My Bride Framing My Maid Backfired When The Camera Recorded Everything

The bright sun shone through the glass dome of the country club ballroom, filling the venue with clear daylight. Over two hundred guests in expensive suits and designer dresses filled the rows of white chairs. Flower arrangements lined the marble aisle, and soft violin music played in the background. It was supposed to be the most perfect wedding of the year in downtown Chicago.

Claire: Where is my diamond necklace?

Elena: I... I don't know, Claire. I put it on the dressing table like you asked.

Claire: Don't play dumb with me, Elena!

Claire's voice echoed off the high marble walls, cutting right through the quiet murmurs of the wedding guests. She stepped forward, her long lace train dragging behind her on the polished floor. Her eyes were fixed on Elena, who stood frozen in her simple pale pink maid of honor gown.

Elena: I swear I haven't left this stage since the ceremony started.

Claire: Why did you steal my diamond necklace?!

A loud, sharp crack echoed through the entire venue. Claire raised her hand and slapped Elena hard across the face in front of everyone. The force of the blow made Elena's head snap to the side, her cheek turning red instantly under the venue lights.

Elena: Oh! Please... I didn't take anything!

Claire: You've been jealous of my family's wealth since high school! You couldn't handle seeing me wear a fifty-thousand-dollar piece of jewelry!

Elena held her hand against her burning cheek, tears welling up in her eyes. The crowd gasped in shock, several guests standing up from their seats to get a better look at the altercation on the altar.

Claire: Give me that bag right now!

Claire lunged forward and forcefully yanked Elena's small leather handbag right out of her hands, pulling the metal zipper open with a rough tear. She reached inside, pulled out a thick diamond strand that caught the sunlight, and held it high above her head.

Claire: Caught you red-handed.

Elena stared at the shining diamonds in disbelief, her breath catching in her throat as the crowd whispered frantically. But standing just a few feet away, the groom, Mark, walked forward slowly in his black tuxedo, his face completely calm and cold. He looked directly into Claire's eyes, reaching into his suit jacket for a small black remote control, totally unaware of the secret that was about to break the whole room wide open.
