Eleanor: What is all this garbage?
Maya: It isn't garbage.
Eleanor: These are old papers. Where is my jewelry?
Maya: There was never any jewelry in this bag.
Eleanor: You swapped it! You took my emeralds.
Maya: I have never seen your emeralds, ma'am.
Eleanor: Don't play dumb with me.
A tall man in a sharp black tuxedo pushed his way through the circle of recording phones.
Marcus: Is there a problem here, Eleanor?
Eleanor: Marcus! Thank god. Arrest this girl.
Marcus: I am the hotel manager, Eleanor, not a police officer.
Eleanor: Then throw her out.
Marcus: What exactly did she do?
Eleanor: She attacked me and stole my belongings.
Maya: That is a lie.
Eleanor: She has my silver clutch right there!
Maya: It looks just like yours, but it isn't.
Eleanor: Ridiculous. It is a custom piece.
Maya: Yes, it is. There were two made.
Eleanor: You are insane.
Maya: One was for his wife.
Eleanor: Exactly.
Maya: And the other was for his daughter.
Marcus looked down at the young girl sitting on the floor, his eyes widening slightly.
Marcus: Daughter?
Eleanor: Do not listen to a word she says, Marcus.
Maya: My name is Maya Vance.
Eleanor: Shut your mouth.
Maya: I am Arthur Vance's biological daughter.
Eleanor: Arthur and I never had children!
Maya: No. You didn't.
Eleanor: He would have told me.
Maya: He didn't want you to know.
Eleanor: Because you are a scam artist trying to get a payout.
Maya: I don't want a payout.
Eleanor: Then what are you doing crashing my charity gala?
Maya: I came to give you these.
Maya gathered the crumpled papers from the marble floor, her hands still shaking from the slap.
Marcus: What are those documents, miss?
Eleanor: Do not engage with her, Marcus.
Maya: It is a copy of my father's final will.
Eleanor: Arthur's will was finalized ten years ago.
Maya: He updated it last week.
Eleanor: I would have been notified by the estate lawyer.
Maya: The estate lawyer is the one who gave me this bag.
Eleanor: Mr. Sterling would never do that.
Maya: He did it this morning, right after my father passed away.
Eleanor: Hand over those papers right now.
Maya: No.
Eleanor: They are my private property!
Maya: They belong to the estate.
Eleanor: I am the sole beneficiary of the estate.
Maya: Not anymore.
Eleanor's face turned completely red as she reached out to snatch the papers, but Marcus stepped between them.
