Please Check The Blue

It was Sofia's voice that finally broke through the mounting tension, small and trembling but carrying an urgency that made everyone in the foyer turn toward her at once. "Please," she said, her tear-filled eyes finally lifting to meet Daniel's directly, her hands clasped tightly in front of her in a gesture of desperate pleading. "Please... please check the blue." The words hung strangely in the air, cryptic and urgent all at once, leaving Daniel momentarily confused despite the obvious weight behind them. "Check what?" he asked, crouching slightly to bring himself closer to her level, his voice gentler now, sensing that whatever Sofia was trying to tell him mattered enormously. Victoria's face drained of color almost instantly, her earlier defensive anger collapsing into something closer to genuine panic. "Sofia, that's enough," she snapped, her voice sharp and commanding in a way Daniel had rarely heard from her before. But Sofia didn't back down, her desperation seeming to overpower whatever fear had kept her silent until this exact moment. "The blue folder," she continued quickly, her words tumbling out faster now, as though she feared losing her courage if she paused even for a breath. "In her office. Please, just look before she can hide it." Daniel straightened slowly, his gaze shifting from Sofia's pleading face to Victoria's rapidly paling one, understanding dawning across his features with a coldness that seemed to settle permanently into his expression. Whatever truth Sofia was so desperately trying to reveal, it was clear now that Victoria had been working just as desperately to keep it buried, and Daniel realized, standing in that marble foyer between his sobbing grandmother and his trembling maid, that he was about to uncover something that would change everything he thought he knew about his own home.
