Brandon: You put something in my drink.
Bride: It was just a supplement! A vitamin for your nerves!
Bridesmaid: She's lying to you, Brandon! It's a heavy sedative and chemical poison!
Bride: Shut your mouth, Chloe! You set me up!
Bridesmaid: I didn't set you up! I caught you on camera in the prep kitchen five minutes before the ceremony!
Chloe held the smartphone higher, turning it so the front row of guests could see the clear video. My mother-in-law stood up from her chair, gasping as she watched the clip play on loop.
Mother-in-Law: Oh my God... Brandon, step away from her!
Brandon: Is this real, Jessica? Tell me the truth right now!
Bride: Brandon, I love you! Why would I ever hurt you?
Bridesmaid: Because of your father's trust fund and the ten-million-dollar life insurance policy!
The entire ballroom broke into loud, chaotic shouting. Guests were taking out their phones, filming every second of the confrontation. My hands were shaking so hard I could barely hold the train of my wedding dress.
Brandon: You made me sign that insurance policy last week.
Bride: That was for our future! For our kids!
Brandon: You told me it was a standard prenup requirement from your family's lawyer!
Bridesmaid: Her family is broke, Brandon! Her father’s company went into foreclosure two months ago!
Bride: Chloe, I trusted you as my best friend!
Bridesmaid: You used me to get into this venue! You thought I wouldn't say anything because you promised me money!
Brandon: You promised her money from my life insurance?
Bridesmaid: She offered me fifty thousand dollars to keep quiet about her offshore bank accounts!
I lunged forward to grab Chloe's hair, but Brandon stepped directly between us, pushing me back with a firm hand against my shoulder. His eyes were cold, filled with tears of pure betrayal.
Brandon: Don't you dare touch her!
Bride: Brandon, please! Look at me! We just said our vows!
Brandon: Those vows mean nothing. You're a monster.
Father-in-Law: Call the police immediately! Lock every exit in this building!
Bride: No! Don't call the police! Brandon, tell them to stop!
Brandon: You tried to kill me in front of my family. You're going to prison for the rest of your life.
I turned around and ran toward the side exit near the catering kitchen, but two venue guards blocked the hallway, standing firmly with their arms crossed.
